German Nationals and World Championships Team
The German Nationals took place this weekend in Göppingen. Elisabeth Seitz, who won the silver medal in the all around at Europeans in April, won the all around, bars and floor titles, along with the silver on vault. She finished fifth on beam. On bars, her best event, she competed a new full twisting Maloney (video at the end of this post), but left out her def. While the full twisting Maolney, which will likely be named after her in October, was a bit sloppy, it is a very cool skill and she managed to work out of it.
Kim Bui won the silver medal in the all around, and won the bronze medal floor. She finished fourth in the remaining event finals.
Five time Olympian Oksana Chusovitina won the vault title and won the silver medal on beam. New senior Nadine Jarosch won the silver medal on floor and bronzes on vault, beam and in the all around.
This competition was the second qualifier for the world chamionships. Elisabeth Seitz, Kim Bui, Oksana Chusovitina, Nadine Jarosch and Pia Tolle were named to the team after the competition. Lisa-Katharina Hill and Anja Rheinbay will fight with Marie-Sophie Hindermann, who did not compete here due to injury, for the last spot.
