European Prelims
Here are all of the results from prelims, thanks to International Gymnast Magazine. I think how I organized them was pretty self explanatory, but gymnasts in italics without a number next to their name are not qualified due to two per country and gymnasts with an R next to their name instead of a number are reserves.

Ana Porgras and Tatiana Nabieva did not compete all around. The biggest shock to me is that none of the Romanians made beam finals. The last time that happened was 2002, but they only sent one gymnast. I do like that there were not very many gymnasts left out of finals due to the two per country rule, although it did happen to poor Anna Dementyeva twice. Aliya Mustafina certainly did her job today, qualifying first in the all around by 3 points and in the top 3 to every event final. And really, I think she was lucky to qualify 3rd on vault because she will be up last in finals and will probably know if she needs an Amanar to win. I’m super impressed with Sandra Izbasa’s performance, where she finished tied for first on vault and first on floor. Porgras and Racea were a bit disappointing, with Porgras not in any finals and Racea not qualifying for beam and finishing only 22nd all around. At least she has a chance to improve her all around standing, because she can probably beat Chelaru, who was third. Gold and silver look like they are going to the Russians if they hit their routines, but there are many contenders for bronze. Elisabeth Seitz had a pretty good day, with 4th all around and two event finals. She isn’t top three anywhere, but two fourth places show that she is capable of getting on the podium, especially with mistakes from other gymnasts. Steingruber’s 1st place on vault is impressive and surprising. Crocket’s scores were also a pleasant surprise. Tweddle managed to hit an upgraded bars set, and did well enough on floor to make finals. Defending her title may be a stretch, though. On a sad note, the Ukrainians competed like they typically do today and failed to make any finals. Fomenko received a 4.725 execution score on beam. Ouch.
Check out Gymnastics Examiner, the DTB Live Ticker and International Gymnast’s Facebook for quick hits from the meet. I will link the results to videos as they become available. Additionally, here are some videos from gymnasts who did not qualify to finals (or only made another event final).
