Russian Championships Event Finals, Day 2
Anna Dementyeva and Yulia Belokobilskaya won event finals on beam and floor today.
Dementyeva scored a gigantic 15.55 on beam. She’s had such a fantastic competition this week and I would be shocked if she didn’t make the European team. She also won the silver medal on floor with a score of 14.325.
Yulia Belkobilskaya also picked up two medals, the gold on floor and the bronze on beam. I don’t think she’s in contention for the European team unless Komova does not recover in time from her injuries. She may be a good candidate for alternate.
The silver medal on beam went to Maria Dunaeva. I have called her a one event gymnast in the past, referring to floor exercise, and she certainly proved me wrong here with a 15.1! The last time I saw her beam, she was competing a good amount of difficulty during the routine but only a double full dismount. She finished fifth on floor exercise.

I believe Russia is sending a senior and junior team to the City of Jesolo Trophy this year. Both Anastasia Grishina and Anastasia Sidorova will be competing with the junior team. I expect to see some of the bubble girls, such as Belokobilskaya, competing for the senior team, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
