Bumbo Cup: WOGA Wins Again
Two days ago at the Bumbo Cup in South Africa, WOGA gymnasts McKenzie Wofford and Katelyn Ohashi split the event titles. Ohashi took gold on vault and floor and silver on bars and beam. One would assume that her two silver medal routines were not perfect, given her scores. Wofford took gold on bars and beam, silver on floor and bronze on vault. The gymnast who stopped WOGA from sweeping the gold and silver medals was South Africa’s Jennifer Khwela, who won the silver medal on vault. Chanel Parsons took the bronze on bars in a pretty weak field. Romania’s young Irina Paun, who won beam recently at the Massilia Gym Cup, won the bronze here, just missing a 14. Angel Romaeo of Wales took the bronze on floor. My guess that Jessica Hogg injured herself is looking to be true; she sat out event finals.
Overall, Ohashi and Wofford have both had a strong international debut, despite some mistakes. As you can see from the results, they were truly miles ahead of the competition.
