Double Layout Punch Front

December 3, 2010

Inspired by Gymnastics Coaching, who has posted about this amazing combination a few times this week. It’s probably my favorite floor combination ever, with my favorites being Mitova, Atler and Chusovitina who each add something special to it.

Here’s my list of everybody who has competed a double layout punch front. Oddly enough, I don’t think we’ve seen it since the new code of points came out. I tried to put the in chronological order. Feel free to add anybody if I left them out!

Camelia Voinea
Svetlana Ivanova
Silvia Mitova
Vanessa Atler
Ludivine Furnon
Elena Dolgopolova
Jamie Dantzscher
Oksana Chusovitina
Brenda Magaña
Yukari Ishizeki
Mohini Bhardwaj
Courtney Bumpers

Here are some other great double layout combinations:

Thanks! I’ve seen Tsavdaridou’s before but forgot about it. I never knew that Ashley Miles competed it!
It’s interesting to compare the popularity of double layout combinations to full in combinations. I’ve seen way more double layout punch fronts than full in punch fronts (I can only think of four), but there have been a billion more whip combinations with full ins.
